1. Bookings and Payment
Lessons must be booked in advance.
Payment is required before or on the day of the lesson unless otherwise agreed.
Any prepaid lesson packages are non-transferable and non-refundable except where required by law.
Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice.
2. Cancellations and Rescheduling
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
The driving school reserves the right to reschedule lessons due to illness, vehicle issues, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
3. Student Requirements
Students must hold a current and valid New Zealand driver licence appropriate to the lesson being undertaken (Learner, Restricted, or Full).
Students must carry their licence during every lesson.
Students must disclose any medical condition, injury, medication, or restriction that may affect their ability to drive safely.
4. Safety and Conduct
Safety is the primary focus of all lessons.
Students must follow all lawful instructions provided by the driving instructor.
The instructor reserves the right to immediately terminate a lesson if a student behaves in an unsafe, aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate manner.
Students must not attend lessons under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair their ability to drive safely.
Mobile phone use while driving is prohibited except where legally permitted and directed by the instructor.
5. Vehicle Use
The training vehicle remains under the ownership and control of the driving school at all times.
Students are responsible for operating the vehicle in accordance with the instructor’s directions and all road rules.
The vehicle is maintained and insured for driving instruction purposes.
6. Passengers and Support Persons
To ensure safety, minimise distractions, and provide the most effective learning environment, no passengers, support persons, family members, friends, or observers are permitted in the vehicle during lessons unless required by law or expressly approved by the driving school.
7. CCTV Recording
CCTV and/or audio-visual recording equipment may operate within the training vehicle during lessons.
Recordings are used for safety, security, training quality assurance, incident investigation, and insurance purposes.
By booking and attending a lesson, students acknowledge and consent to the collection and use of these recordings.
All recordings will be managed in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
8. Damage and Liability
The driving school maintains appropriate insurance for the training vehicle.
Students may be held responsible for costs arising from deliberate misconduct, criminal activity, or failure to follow instructor directions where such actions result in damage or loss.
The driving school accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings brought into the vehicle.
9. Lesson Duration
Lessons will commence and conclude at the agreed times.
If a student arrives late, the lesson may be shortened accordingly and the full lesson fee may still apply.
10. Privacy
Personal information collected by the driving school will be handled in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and used only for legitimate business, instructional, safety, and legal purposes.
11. Acceptance of Terms
By booking or attending a lesson, students acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
